ISO 12,800, 1/60 second, Handheld with 100-400mm lens

It was 6 pm last night in the mangrove walk at Pasir Ris Park Singapore. The light was fading as I was trying my luck to find the mangrove pitta during low tide.

I saw a dark object moving in the undergrowth the size of a pitta. It disappeared before I could even locate it. I stood there for a few minutes to see if it would come out. Yes, it did. There were a pair.

Olive-winged Bulbul

I took the shoots with 100-400mm lens handheld at 1/60 sec at ISO 12,800. I used the camera animal’s eye focus to focus on the bird’s eye.

I processed the Cr3 file in DXO RAW and edited it in LR. It was an Olive-winged Bulbul.
